Our story

Once upon a time... La Corpo

It was in 1995 that the Corporation du Fort St-Jean (CFSJ) came into being, shortly after the closure of the Royal Military College of Saint-Jean (RMC Saint-Jean)

Wanting to prevent the site from falling into oblivion and to ensure the maintenance of the vast real estate park, the Conseil Économique du Haut-Richelieu (CLD) reached an agreement with the federal government. The “Campus du Fort Saint-Jean” then became the site’s official manager. Its objective was to continue the educational vocation of the place.

Five years later, the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean and the CLD signed a new 25-year agreement with the Department of National Defence. The team worked to further market the site and its facilities to benefit a large number of people, including the local population.

With the reopening of the RMC Saint-Jean, the mission of the Corporation du Fort St-Jean has expanded to include support for this flagship institution of the Canadian Armed Forces, a mission it continues to embrace today with pride and dedication.
